Galorath Releases SEER-3D

El Segundo, Calif. — Galorath Incorporated, a California-based software firm whose customers include Airbus; BAE Systems; Boeing; Lockheed Martin; Northrop Grumman; and the U.S. Department of Defense has released SEER-3D, providing a CAD to Cost capability in conjunction with its widely used SEER for Manufacturing (SEER-MFG™), a project estimation solution for production costs.

SEER-3D allows you to open and view machined part geometry from a STEP file, available from many widely-used Computer-Aided Design (CAD) applications, and import it into SEER for Manufacturing for use in a cost estimate.

SEER-3D provides a full, 3D view of the machined part, with zoom magnification to the lowest level of detail, and 360º rotation on the X, Y, and Z axes. It allows you to view, set, or modify a variety of parameters describing the part, including those involving material, machining category, origin, rough operations, and finish operations down to the level of individual surfaces, holes, and countersinks.

“Our software is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our customers,” said Dan Galorath, president and CEO of Galorath Incorporated. “SEER-3D allows users to generate quality estimates faster by working directly from the CAD geometry.  This not only saves time, but avoids errors, providing decision support for design trade-off analysis, go/no-go decisions and should-cost analysis.”
